1 INTERPRETATION
A. DEFINITIONS
Bet
The fixed odds wager offered by Vernons to Customers whereby the Customer selects 3, 4 or 5 numbers between 1 and 45 and if those numbers are matched by the numbers selected in the Draw then Vernons will pay the Customer Winnings as stated at the Means of Entry at the time the Bet was placed.
Betting Slip
An official form produced by Vernons for handwritten Entries upon which the Customer indicates in blue or black ink his/her choice of numbers, the Draws to which the Bet relates, calculation of Stake and the method of payment.
Customer
Any person aged 18 years or older, or any group, partnership or syndicate of persons aged 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom who places a Bet.
Draw
The 6 numbers between 1 and 45 drawn in the Irish Lottery from time to time but for Lucky Clover purposes on Saturdays and Wednesdays. The bonus number or bonus ball does not count for the purposes of this game. If there are two Draws on one day, the first or main Draw shall be the one used for the purpose of the Lucky Clover bet. If for any reason a Draw does not take place then the Entry will stand for the next available Draw or such other Draw as Vernons shall select and announce.
Entry
A Bet placed by a Customer with Vernons. The definitive Entry is that held directly by Vernons (for which purpose any service provider is not included).
Irish Lottery
The Irish Lottery operated by An Post National Lottery Company whose numbers in the Lotto game are used for the purposes of this game. Their website is www.lotto.ie
Means of Entry
In writing, by telephone, by electronic or digital communication, the Internet or such other means of transmission and receipt as Vernons in its discretion shall choose to accept. No Entry will be accepted by way of facsimile.
Refund
Vernons return of part or all of the Customer’s Stake to the Customer:-
- by crediting the Customer’s Vernons account, if the Entry was by digital or electronic means or via the Internet, or,
- by cheque or credit note sent to the Customer’s last known address, if the Entry was made by any other means.
Stake
The sum paid by the Customer to Vernons.

Vernons Dispute Resolution Process
The formal procedure set up by Vernons to deal with Customer disputes, a copy of which can be found on the Website or obtained from Vernons by post.
Winnings
The sum of money paid by Vernons to a Customer whose selection matches the drawn numbers in accordance with the odds quoted at the Means of Entry.
B. GENERAL
- 1.The Laws of England and Wales apply to these Rules and to all betting transactions conducted under them.
- No one under the age of 18 years is allowed to enter any Vernons game or competition and Vernons reserves the right to use such checks as it may deem appropriate on a random or selective basis at any time.
- If age cannot be verified then any Bet entered will be declared void and the Stake returned to the Customer’s last known address in the form of a cheque.
- Payment of Winnings will be suspended until such time as Vernons is satisfied that the Customer is 18 years of age or older.
- These Rules apply to Lucky Clover Bets only and take precedence in the event of any conflict with any other Vernons FairPlay Rules.
- Vernons reserves the right to alter these Rules and to alter the odds offered at any time and to notify such alterations by such means as Vernons considers appropriate.
- Vernons reserves the right to withdraw the Lucky Clover game at any time and to Refund any Stakes paid in advance.
- If, in the opinion of Vernons, it is not reasonably practicable to complete any one or more of the games, or Vernons business or the Irish Lottery has been affected by fire, explosion, action of the elements, failure of machinery of any description, congestion on the Internet or Website, damage or malfunction of telephone or computer equipment by virus, tampering, hacking or unauthorised intervention, industrial dispute whether inside or outside Vernons, interruption of mains services, civil disorder, Act of God or any event of a similar nature or effect, then Vernons may exercise its absolute discretion to close the promotion and thereafter will entertain no claim from any Customer.
- The Customer must ensure compliance with the Laws which may affect him/her and must pay any tax or levy raised in any jurisdiction on any Winnings. Vernons takes no responsibility for the legality of any of its competitions outside the United Kingdom, or the lawfulness of any Customer’s participation therein.
- The maximum amount which will be paid to any Customer, group or syndicate of Customers or to any one source is £150,003 on any one Draw.
- The Irish Lottery officially published list of the numbers drawn shall be final.
- Vernons reserves the right to record, for security purposes, any Entry made by telephone and any such recording will remain the property of Vernons.
- Vernons will not be held responsible for any damage or problem with any telephone or computer equipment, howsoever arising as a result of any Customer’s participation in the Game or downloading any information from the Website
- Any dispute will be dealt with by the Vernons Dispute Resolution Process, details of which can be obtained from Vernons by post or on the Website.
2 APPLICATION OF THESE RULES
A. HOW TO PLAY
- 1.A Customer chooses 3, 4 or 5 numbers for any Draw notifying them to Vernons via an approved Means of Entry, together with a Stake. If each number forecast is matched in the Draw Vernons will pay the Customer Winnings in accordance with the odds quoted at the Means of Entry.
- 1.All Entries must be received by Vernons at least fifteen minutes (or such time as Vernons shall determine) before the Draw in which the Customer intends to enter. Any Entry received after that time will be entered into the next available Draw. Any Bet received by Vernons by post less than 24 hours before the Draw will not be entered into that Draw but will be entered in the next available Draw. Vernons stamp on the coupon shall be the definitive time/date of receipt.
- 1.It is the Customer's duty to ensure the accuracy of the Entry and Vernons accepts no responsibility to notify Customers of incorrectly completed Entries.
- Vernons may refuse to accept an Entry but for the avoidance of doubt an Entry will be disqualified and no claim for Winnings will be entertained by Vernons where:-
- it is made by a person under the age of eighteen years;
- it does not reach Vernons in accordance with these Rules;
- it is made by or on behalf of an employee, agent or assignee of Vernons, its advertising agencies or any promotional companies involved in Lucky Clover or family or household members of such persons;
- it is ambiguous, illegible or incomprehensible;
- payment is made by way of a dishonoured cheque or payment on a debit or credit card is refused;
- a Bet is lost, interrupted or affected by the non-availability or malfunction of any server or other form of connection;
- a Bet which appears to be jumbled, scrambled or misdirected by any kind of electronic or mechanical failure;
- the loss of any Bet or part thereof, howsoever caused;
- a Bet is made by a person who is not a resident of the United Kingdom.
- Any Stake accompanying a disqualified Entry will be Refunded. Any Winnings paid on a disqualified Entry shall be repaid forthwith to Vernons.
B. STAKE
- Vernons will publish any minimum or maximum Stake and the minimum or maximum number of Draws for which the Entry is made on or via the Means of Entry.
- If an incorrect Stake is received by Vernons it may at its discretion reject the Entry or adjust and accept any Stake underpaid and pay out Winnings adjusted accordingly.
C. WINNINGS
- 1.Vernons will check the results and notify the Customer of any Winnings. Should any Customer believe he/she has a claim this must be notified to Vernons as soon as possible and the Customer shall provide evidence of the Entry and Stake and any other information requested by Vernons whose decision with regard to any Winnings shall be final. No claim will be accepted if made more than 6 months after the relevant Draw.
- Vernons will pay Winnings:-
- to Customers who play digitally, electronically or via the Internet by crediting the Customer’s Vernons account;
- to all other Customers by cheque sent to their last known address.
- No Winnings will be paid until the Customer has satisfied all Vernons security requirements, including satisfactory proof of identity and completion of such forms or affidavits as Vernons may require.
